Every year, one million New immigrants come to the USA, like this young Mexican couple. Every year, one million New immigrants come to the USA, like this young Mexican couple. During the decades following the Second World War the United States expanded beyond its borders to become the most influential power in the world – a superpower. It took a permanent position on the world stage, spreading its consumer economy, its cultural influence and its political ideals throughout the globe. “Americanization” became a term of praise and damnation.

Through it all, it continued to draw immigrants from all the countries of the earth, still searching for the American Dream.
