Superpower
During the decades following the Second World War the United States expanded beyond its borders to become the most influential power in the world – a superpower. It took a permanent position on the world stage, spreading its consumer economy, its cultural influence and its political ideals throughout the globe. “Americanization” became a term of praise and damnation.
Through it all, it continued to draw immigrants from all the countries of the earth, still searching for the American Dream.
